New Westbrook Primary School and Kindergarten
23 March 2023
Exciting news for families as a brand new government primary school and kindergarten are set to open in Term 1, 2024, serving Westbrook and further providing additional educational needs for our growing community.
A short drive from the future Truganina North Secondary School (interim name) which includes a junior and senior campus, the Tarneit North Primary School (interim name) will ensure every Westbrook estate family is within close proximity to Victoria’s leading educational facilities. Located at 11 Tuition Drive, Tarneit, enrolments will open for Prep to Grade 6 students once the first stage of the current construction is complete.
Planning for the school has included consultations from Traditional Owners, represented by the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation. Consequently, the design for the new school will feature gardens filled with native flora, and incorporate Indigenous stories and histories throughout the facilities including the translations of important Indigenous words, all designed to enhance cultural understanding.
While the new school principal is set to be announced shortly, the school’s name will be announced in Term 3, 2023.
School zones for the area will be published online at findmyschool.vic.gov.au.
Also currently under construction to complement the new primary school is Tarneit North Primary School Kindergarten (interim name), located next door at 25 Tuition Drive, Tarneit. Due to open in conjunction with the school in Term 1, 2024, the kindergarten will provide the perfect opportunity for students to make a smooth transition from their early years education.
