Record Breaking Circus Themed Fun at Modeina

19 February 2023

Thousands of Modeina community members packed into the Montmarte Boulevard Reserve on Friday, 10 February for a premier twilight event full of fun, food, and entertainment. Hosted by Dennis Family Corporation, the free Circus in the Park evening allowed community members of all ages to come together under a tranquil sunset.

From 6 pm through to 9 pm, a record breaking 2,250 families and friends enjoyed a jam packed night of circus themed entertainment held under perfect Melbourne weather conditions.

“As our first twilight event, we were delighted to see how well the community responded,” explains Modeina Marketing Executive, Nidhi Joshi.

“Over two thousand people packed into the park for what we hope will be an ongoing annual event,” she continues. “Everyone had such a great time, all the entertainment was a hit, and the delicious food was so well received that we can’t wait to begin planning next year’s show!”

To kick off the night, guests were delighted by a live marching band performing a suite of popular songs, before being dazzled by an array of talented acts including a contortionist and professional juggler.

Children and parents alike were awed by Eesha: the life sized elephant puppet, danced along to iconic hits from the Lion King Show and were sent out in style as a DJ played their favourite songs to end the evening. Face painters and tattoo artists were also on hand to provide some additional colour to the event.

Dinner options included a variety of free food favourites, including delicious hot chips and burgers, pizzas and indulgent sweet treats of ice cream, slushies, and fairy floss.

Following the success of the Circus in the Park evening, planning is already underway for another exciting night at Burnside Primary School on Friday, 3 March.

“This has been the perfect event for Modeina community members to get to know their neighbours and enjoy a great time out in one of our stunning parks,” concludes Nidhi. “I can’t wait for everyone to join us at our next community event – Outdoor Movie Night!”
