The Dennis Family Corporation has been running Community Funds at many of its developments in Victoria and South East Queensland for more than two decades, awarding grants to eligible local not-for-profit groups.
Each year the funding provided to recipients helps make many wonderful community projects and programs possible.
The Community Fund initiative was inspired by the vision of Dennis Family Corporation Founder, Bert Dennis, as a way of giving back to the communities that the company creates.
Since the introduction of the concept in 2002, the Dennis Family has distributed over $1 million in Community Fund grants to help make so hundreds of grateful recipients including sporting clubs, schools, scout and guide groups, cultural organisations, animal welfare, and social and health-based services.
This year, DFC offered Community Fund grants at five of its current Victorian projects – Westbrook in Truganina, Modeina in Burnside, Peppercorn Hill in Donnybrook, Ashbury in Armstrong Creek and Manor Lakes, the company’s largest ever development which has become a suburb in its own right.
At Westbrook, 25 grants of $1,500 were awarded to very deserving local not-for-profit groups.
The Westbrook Community Fund has been in existence since 2017 and with the addition of this year’s tally of $37,500 has now distributed close to $300,000 in grants in that time.
At Modeina, a total of 19 local not-for-profit groups shared in an aggregate tally of $28,000 in funding, receiving $1,500 each.
The Modeina Community Fund has been in existence since 2018 and has now distributed almost $170,000 in grants to local groups in that period.
“We are proud to once again be able to help so many wonderful projects possible this year,” DFC Marketing Manager, Melissa Munro said.
“When accepting their grant, each of the successful groups at Westbrook and Modeina took a few moments to provide the audience with a snapshot of their activity in the community and what specific project or use they intend to direct their funding towards.
“Inviting the groups to give us that personal insight is something we do at all our presentations and we always hear so many heartwarming stories.”

Congratulations to the 2025 Modeina Community Fund recipients.
Melissa also noted that it was also a great pleasure to have City of Melton Mayor, Steve Abboushi in attendance at the Modeina presentation function.
“Steve has been a tremendous supporter of the Community Fund since its inception at Modeina through his ongoing involvement on the assessment panel,” she said.
