The Opportunity
We have an opportunity in our Land Developments team for an individual seeking an on-site role, has excellent customer service and thorough record keeping and organisation. This is a key role, as it directly impacts on the look of our master planned communities.
As one of two Estate Compliance Officers in the team, your portfolio may include 3 to 4 estates in the Western and Northern corridor of Melbourne including Geelong. For each estate, you will be accountable for compliance to project design and siting requirements. This may be achieved by managing your day-to-day appointments with builders, clients, landscape contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve compliance issues. In addition to working with your manager, the Building Approvals Manager, you will also work with the Building Approval Officers, Project Directors and their operational teams, and the Sales team.
Specifically, in this role you will be responsible for the following:
- Establish a monthly inspection process, or such other frequency as agreed with the relevant Project Director, to confirm house and driveway construction compliance (and landscaping compliance as relevant) as per contractual and Design and Siting Guidelines requirements.
- Ensure prompt proactive engagement with landowners and builders to manage rectification of non-compliant works.
- Ensure non-compliance letters are issued, when required, to landowners in a timely manner.
- Ensure that Sage is regularly updated with a comprehensive record of communications with landowners and builders.
- Gain a sound understanding of project Design and Siting Guidelines details to assist in the conduct of compliance inspections and to assist in the evolution of Guidelines for DFC.
- As required, manage the compliance audit and handover to the project team of project funded front garden landscape packages.
- Instigate and chair regular Design Review Panel meetings with all project teams and Building Approvals Manager (and Building Approvals Officer as appropriate).
- Ensure a timely response to any estate compliance queries, concerns or complaints – existing and potential residents.
- Advise the relevant project team of illegal dumping, rubbish and general maintenance issues noticed in normal course of duties.
- Any other task as required.
About you
The successful applicant will be proactive, a strong communicator, lateral thinker, decision maker, and problem solver. Additionally, you will possess:
- Experience with a Developer or Consultancy, demonstrating:
- Building design or construction awareness
- General understanding of subdivision process.
- Degree qualified in a related discipline (preferable).
- A passion for excellent customer service and a drive to achieve outcomes.
- A high level of organisation and strong record keeping skills.
- Open and positive attitude to teamwork.
- Full drivers licence and own vehicle.
- Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
