Manor Lakes estate families have warmly welcomed the opening of the newly constructed Ngarri Primary School for the commencement of Term 1 2023.

Located in Holyoake Parade in the Lollipop Hill neighbourhood, the new education facility has now been named Ngarri Primary School (pronounced narr-ee) is a Wadawurrung word meaning ‘sheoak’, following community consultation. While under construction, the school had been referred to as Holyoake Parade Primary on an interim basis until the official name was determined.

In its first year, Ngarri Primary School has welcomed around 250 students, and at capacity will cater for 650 students in Prep to Grade 6. The school will feature modern and collaborative learning facilities, as well as specialist hubs for subjects such as food technology, science, music and drama and includes:

an administration building with a library

staff offices and amenities

3 learning neighbourhood buildings with general-purpose classrooms, and flexible and collaborative teaching spaces

a specialist learning neighbourhood for subjects such as food technology and science

a community hub with a competition-grade gymnasium, canteen, music and drama space

2 outdoor hardcourts, a sporting field and a bike shed.

Ngarri Primary School has a team of around 30 teachers, integration aides and administrative staff, led by inaugural principal Honey Stirling. Honey has over 20 years of experience in education, working in a range of schools with very diverse backgrounds. Having lived and worked in the local Wyndham area for most of her career, she is passionate about providing an outstanding education for all students and building strong parent and carer community connections.
