With the recent lifting of COVID-19 restrictions on playgrounds the keenly anticipated Lakeside Reserve at Manor Lakes is now open to the public. Just in time for the warmer weather months ahead, the 0.4-hectare reserve is expected to be a major asset for residents within the Lakeside precinct and the wider Manor Lakes community.

Designed by Tract Consultants and constructed by Naturform, the many features within the reserve include:

  • A viewing platform with architectural feature walls and a shelter overlooking the lake.
  • Timber deck with BBQ facilities and tables for picnics.
  • A climbing net playground featuring a 5.2m ‘pirate tower’.
  • A rain garden with a timber bridge.
  • Water play area with approx. 100 individual nozzles that can be programmed to turn on/off at different times and through the children’s interaction.
  • Dedicated area for babies & toddlers.
  • Public toilet located within viewing platform.
  • Large areas of garden beds and turf and the continuation of the pedestrian and cycle path which runs alongside Lollypop Creek.

The water play area uses recycled water that is treated on site in underground tanks, located underneath the viewing structure. The comprehensive safety and health protocols ensure contaminated water does not enter the water play area.

Lakeside Reserve is located adjacent to neighbouring wetlands which are currently under construction.
